Southern Province conducted  two seminars as part of our preparation for the 11th Ordinary General Chapter2024. Held on  27th and 30thJanuary 2024 at Charummood and Anchal.  The session on “SRA Journeying Forward As Beacon of Hope" facilitated by the province team . 108 sisters participated . sisters engaged in group discussions, presentations, and reflection exercises, gaining valuable insights and inspiration for their participation in the House Chapter, Provincial Chapter, and ultimately, the General Chapter. 

Msgr. Rev. Fr. Joseph Roy O.fm. Cap. Episcopal Vicar for Religious of Punalur, enlightened the sisters on the topic "Vowed life in the present context" and officiated the Eucharist during which they renewed their Vows.

A Seminar was organized on 25th November 2023 for the sisters involved in  Socio- pastoral Apostolate was conducted at Cherpushpa Nivas ,Anchal .Sr.Dhaya Thomas DM (surgical nursing professor and Dr. F M Lazer facilitated the seminar. 30 Participants were  attended the parogramme.

A seminar was conducted on 11th November for the sisters engaged in educational ministery at Deva Mata Convent  vaddy, Kollam.  Rev. Fr. Dr. Silvie Antony, Kollam Diocese and  Rev. Fr. Jayanth Mary O. fm. Cap.- Facilitated the program. 

Meeting of the Superiors of Southern Province was held in Queen of the Apostles convent ,Anchal 

Pilgrimage to St.  Deva sahayam Pillai: 15 sisters from the province joined the pilgrimage.

Rt. Rev. Dr.SelvisterPonnumuthan, Bishop of Punalur officiated the Holy Eucharist along with Rev. Fr. Victor O. fm. Cap. at 11.00 am followed by blessing of the House. Most of the superiors of our communities were present. Mr. Joseph & Co., Castle Builders were also present. All shared the Agape at 12.30pm.

Sr. M. Bertilla SRA bid Farwell to the world on 26th June at 11.20 am at St. Joseph’s Convent, Charummood in the presence of the community.Rt. Rev. Dr. Paul Antony Mullassery, Bishop of Quilon, Rt. Rev. Dr. Joshua Mar Ignathios, Bishop of Mavelikara,Msgr. Sebastian Vaz,Rev. Christy Joseph,Judicial Vicar & corporate manager of Punalur diocese, CHASS director & Assistant Fr.Thomas and Fr.George , Fr. Jolly from Kollam and priests from the vicinity offered prayers for her in the Chapel.

Two Batchers of Annual retreat are conducted in the Southern province in 30th April to May 5th and 21st May to 26th May 2023 at Charummood

The Southern Province concluded the Centenary Celebrations with a Thanksgiving Eucharistic celebration and a public meeting on Monday, April 24, 2023, at St. Joseph’s School, Charummoodu. The guests were given a grant reception at the entrance of St. Joseph’s School. 100 hydrogen balloons were lifted into the sky to mark the joyful centenary celebration of the canonical erecting of the congregation.

Sr. Aleena, Sr. Dennis, Sr. Joselyn, Sr. Suchitha and Sr. Theresina Muricken from Europ Province, celebrated their Golden Jubilee and Sr. Sujatha celebrated her Silver Jubilee of Religious Profession. 

The Thanksgiving Eucharistic celebration to mark the Golden and Silver Jubilee celebrations was officiated by Rt. Rev. Dr. Selvister Ponnumuthan, Bishop of Punalur at St. Mary's Church Charummoodu on 10th December 2022. Many priests, family members and friends of the sisters and sisters from all the communities joint them in the celebrations and thanksgiving. 

Sr. Grace, Sr. Kripa and Sr. Therese made their final commitment in the congregation on 3rd Dec. 2022 during the solemn Eucharistic celebration officiated Rt. Rev. Dr. Paul Mullassery, Bishop of Quilon, at St. Mary’s Forane Church Charummood.  

Sr. Sindhu, Sr. Laly, Sr. Mariyam, Sr. Seena, Sr. Selvarani and Sr. Rosmy renewed their vows on 28th Nov. 2022 at Cherupushpa Nivas, Anchal during the Eucharistic celebration.

A Seminar was organized on 19th Nov. 2022 for the sisters involved in Medical and Socio- pastoral Apostolate was conducted at Vaddy Deva Mata School. Fr. Shoji & Fr. Justin OFM. Cap. facilitated the seminar.

The earthly life of Rev. Sr. Lucian Karinattu SRA ended peacefully ended on 4th November at Caritas Hospital Kottayam. Her funeral service was conducted at St. Mary's Church, Charummoodu on the following day. Her good memories remain with us and all her beloved student. 

A Seminar was conducted on 24th Oct 2022 for the sister engaged in education ministry at Deva Mata School, Vaddy. Dr. Biju Terrence, Associate Professor of Commerce, University of Kerala, Kariavattom, facilitated the program.

Three batches of Charism retreats are conducted in the province: on 5th – 10th Sept, 2nd – 7th Oct and 26th -31st Dec. 2022. Sr. Deepamary, Sr. Regis, Sr. Anasthasia and Sr. Regy facilitated the retreats at Charummood.  

Rev. Sr. Nanditha Pereira and Sr. Annie D’Souza, general councilor, accompanied by Sr. Juliet, Provincial Superior of Mangalore arrived on 11th Sept 2022 at Nirmala Centre Koviloor for three days visit to communities at Dharmapuri diocese.Sr. Deepamary, Provincial and Sr. Anasthasia, delegate superior along with the Community at Koviloor welcomed them.

On 13th they left after their visit to Koviloor and Visuvasampatty. 

Mr. Eugene Pereira and Mrs. Bridget from Vaddy, Kollam donated their 4.75 cents land and house to Queen of Apostles Society on 13th June 2022.

Eugene and Bridget Pereira Memorial Home is blessed as the new Candidate’s House on 24th August 2022 by Rev. Fr. Christopher, Vicar of Vaddy Parish, in the presence of Sr. Deepamary, Provincial and other sisters. 

On 10th Sept 2022 Sr. Ushas took charge of the Candidates. She together with Sr. Felvy and Candidates Janu, Divya, Beena, Ebi & Ebina are moved to the new house.

The seminar on Synodality was facilitated by Msgr. James Culas on 9th and 18th August 2022 at Cherupushpa Nivas.

Synodality is journeying together, listening to the Spirit through the signs of the time and building relationship through communication responding to the needs of the time. We discussed our Strength, weakness, opportunities, and threats of our province.

The same was organized at Nirmala Centre, Kovillor on 19th August 2022.

17 Senior sisters who are above 75 years, gathered at St. Joseph’s Convent Charummood and we had a thanksgiving Eucharist. Rev. Fr. Nibu, Parish Priest officiated the thanksgiving Mass and gave an inspiring message. The sisters were felicitated and thanked for their lifelong commitment for the SRA Charisam and mission.

Inauguration of the Centenary of the Canonical establishment of the Congregation:

Most Rev. Dr. Selvyster Ponnumuthan, Bishop of Punalur officiated the solemn   Eucharistic celebration concelebrated by Msgr. Jude Thadeus, Episcopal Vicar for Religious of the Diocese of Punalur and few priests of the Diocese and Capuchin Ashram. Superiors of all our communities and sisters participated.

On 10th July 2022 all the communities had a solemn thanksgiving Mass in their respective parishes to mark the event. 

Sisters from Southern Province conducted orientation program at Kallada, Adimalathura, Kaithakody, and Kollam in Kerala. The vocation camp was organized on 16th– 18th May at Charumood. The girls were given orientation and facilitated their discernment for life.

Sr. Deepamary, Provincial Superior, Sr. Donia and Sr. Regy Provincial councilors, had a meeting with the Delegation team at Nirmala Centre, Kovilur. The provincial team gave their handholding support to the delegation team and appointed Coordinators for all the ministries and vocation promotion for the delegation.

The Southern Province celebrated the Golden Jubilee of religious profession of Sr. Betina, Sr. Cynthia, Sr. Freeda and Sr.Geralda on 23rd April, 2022 at St. Mary’s Church Charummood.  Eucharistic celebration was solemnized by Rt. Rev. Dr. Silvester Ponnumuthan, Bishop of Punalur, Rt. Rev. Dr. Stanley Roman, Bishop Emeritus of Kollam and Msgr. Jude Thadeus, Episcopal Vicar for Religious. Many Priests, sisters, family members of the Jubilarians, and well-wishers joint the celebration.

Rev. Sr. M. Nanditha Pereira SRA, Superior General unveiled the plaque and Rt. Rev. Dr. Vincent Samuel, Bishop of Neyattinkara Diocese solemnly blessed the new building for the Vimala Hrudaya Nursery School at Chullimanoor in the presence of Rev. Sr. M. Vincentia, General Councilor, Ward member, priests, sisters, staff, students, and parents. Bishop appreciated the dedicated service of our sisters and staff in molding the kids through value-based education.

Sr. M. Nanditha Pereira SRA, Superior General, inaugurated the new School building for Fr. Bodewig’s Day Care Centre on 20th Feb. 2022 and unveiled the Plaque.

His Excellency Mar Joseph Kallarangattu, Bishop of Pala, solemnly blessed the School for the Differently Abled children in the gracious presence of Sr. Vincentia Mammoottil, Assistant General, priests from the Diocese, Panchayat President, Sisters, well-wishers, staff, students and parents. 

SRA Southern Province joyfully celebrated today the installation of the new Provincial Superior Rev. Sr. Deepamary Valiyaparampil along with her team – Sr. M. Donia Kannanthara, Sr. M. Regy Poovathumkal, Sr. M. Flossy Antony and Sr. M. Selma George.

Our Dear Sr. Lilliosa went to her beloved on 7, March 2019.  She has inspired us with her patient endurance.  May her soul rest in peace.
