Installation and the Handing over of the new provincial and team on 9th December 2023

Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. ( Phil 4:6-7)

Installation and the Handing over of the new provincial and team on 9th December 2023

The installation of the new Province team and the handing of the leadership and administration of Ranchi province was held on 9th Dec 2023, in the presence of Sr. M. Nanditha Pereira, our Superior General. The first hour of the day began with a meaningful prayer service led by Sr. Kavita Joseph and the team, during which she thanked God for the presence of Sr. M. Nanditha Pereira our Superior General and the blessings received in the province by her leadership and for the newly appointed Province team. She then requested Sr. M. Nanditha Pereira to initiate the taking charge. By passing on a burning candle to the new Provincial Sr. Nanditha drew the attention of all to what it means to transfer leadership and responsibility in the province. She then passed on the burning candle to Sr. Shobhita the new provincial symbolizing the continuity of guidance and wisdom and entrusted the province, the mission of the province and each sister of the province in the hand of Sr. M. Shobhita. In a ceremonial manner, Sr. M. Kavita Joseph handed over a growing plant to Sr. M. Shobhita which signified growth, renewal and nurturing of the future of the province under the leadership of the new team. The new team and the community gathered were led to reflect on the theme, “The growth of the tree” and implored God’s blessings on the newly appointed team Sr. Shobhita Toppo and her Councilors Sr. Shuchi Vareekal, Sr. Ragini Toppo, Sr. Kavita Lopes, and Sr. Jeya Simon as they assume the new responsibility to lead the province.

The holy Eucharistic celebration was officiated by Fr. Reginald Furtado OFM from St. Alberts Seminary. During the homily he shared some points on leadership – namely a leader must promote and possess the qualities of open communication, empathy, strategic thinking, creativity, positivity, flexibility, skill, time management, reliability, monitor ship, recognizing potentiality of others, responsible, organizing capacity, delegate and be ready to get feedback. We are spirit lead people as- Animators. Jn 21: 15-19, Jesus tells to Peter - feed my lambs, tend my sheep and feed my sheep, our life is to share agape, encourage one another and have the quality of caring, sharing and baring completely. Love generated at the feet of lord - as Mary in upper room who understood her responsibility and the Apostles.

The day was concluded with the blessing of a new Marian Grotto in Bara Ghaghra community followed by a short felicitation program, felicitating Sr. M. Nanditha and the provincial teams. The cultural evening had meaningful presentations by junior sisters, blind children, ANM students and candidates from Chanho community. The day left everyone in a joyful mood.
