International women's day celebration in Masese, Uganda  

The sisters of the Immaculate Conception Convent, Malongwe, shared their joy of Christmas with the less privileged and less fortunate of the society during the Christmas Season. The activities for this celebration were threefold i.e. visiting the Prisoners on 21st December, Christmas with sick and the elderly on 22nd December and Children’s Day on 28th December. It were days of happiness and joy for living the incarnate Jesus through our Mission

On 8th March 2019 Women’s day celebration was organized by the sisters of Jinja Convent at Divine Hope Center, Masese. Over 400 women participated in the celebration that commenced at 10.00 a.m. with Eucharistic celebration by Fr. Acheleo Bisoborwa MI. Thereafter a short cultural programme by the women was presented. M/s. Kasowole Joy the senior assistant town clerk was the guest of honor.

The Animation of the General Chapter 2018 was held at Fr. Bodewig Home, Jinja on 30th & 31st March 2019. It was an enthusiastic participation of all the 13 members in the Uganda Mission. Sr. Olive SRA the Mission Coordinator shared and discussed with the members different topics that were dealt during the 10th Ordinary General Chapter 2018.

A session on learning accounts was being organized by Sr. Olive the Mission Coordinator for members interested.  The session was held at Fr. Bodewig Home, Jinja on 1st May 2019. 11 members participated in this session which was both theoretical and practical.

In collaboration with three organizations the sisters at Malongwe had organized a Medical Camp for the poor people in the vicinity, Buikwe district on 14th July 2019 in St. Mary’s Primary School Campus, Malongwe. The facilities availed during the camp were free eye check up, check up for cervical cancer and vaccination for the same and Oral Hygiene.  More than 300 people seized this opportunity.

On 1st July 2019 the Canonical Establishment of the Congregation was celebrated with Inter-house competition at Fr. Bodewig Nursery/ Primary school Masese, Jinja. The competition was based on the theme “Illiteracy is the main cause for famine”

9th June 2019 was a joyous day to thank the Lord for Sr. Saumya as she completed 25 years of her consecrated life as Missionary Sisters of the Queen of the Apostles. Fr. Paul Wandera celebrated the thanksgiving Eucharist followed by felicitation at Fr. Bodewig Home, Jinja.

One day training Programme on Fireless Cooker was being organized on 23rd May 2019  by the sisters at Malongwe in collaboration with NGO named ‘Network Women Agribusiness and Development’ (NOWAD). This opportunity was seized by 50 local women in Buikwe district.

On 23rd February 2019 three candidates Beatrice Namuwaya, Edvance Kemigisha  and Topista Nyiraneza entered Postulancy at Immaculate Conception Convent, Malongwe, Uganda. Fr. Didasio celebrated the Holy Eucharist.

The sisters of Immaculate Conception Convent, Malongwe shared their joy with the dejected and lonely people of a poor village in Mayuge district on 28th December 2018.

Skill training in foot wear making organized by UCDT in collaboration with ‘Tandika Uganda’
