It is not coincidental, but it was in the plan of God that the SRA sisters – Ranchi Province turn over a new leaf in its history by having the new school building erected at Kharwatoli, as the congregation celebrates its Centenary Year.

Centenary year is the time to recall the past with gratitude, celebrate the present with joy and plan for the future.

An Inter school centenary year competition was held at Amar Jyoti School, Bodhgaya on 20.11.2022, to mark the celebration of the centenary year of the congregation. All the schools of the province participated in this unique event.

We were reminded and urged to remind one another that we are called to manifest in this universe the compassionate love of God, through our word and deed in varied ministries, according to the signs of the time. 

A day - when we recalled the hard work our senior members have done as energetic missionaries, to proclaim the Gospel of compassion and to develop the mission of our congregation; when we recounted the lessons we have learned from them and took take time to recognize the continual sacrifices and contributions they have made with their skills and lives. We celebrate our sisters, celebrate their contribution and celebrate their goodness”. For they make us feel proud of our congregation.

The special purpose of coming together was to plan and discuss the activities during centenary year.

The inauguration of the opening of the Centenary Year of the canonical foundation of our congregation was celebrated on 2 July 2022 at Sacred Heart Convent, Bara Ghaghra with a thanksgiving Eucharist .

A time of togetherness, assimilation, refreshing and renewing in the Spirit to be rooted in God and in the Spirit of the Congregation.

It was a joyous day for us to join our dear Sr. Caritas Burh and Sr. Edna Kerketta with their companion Sr. Ida from Lucknow province to thank the Lord for the 50 golden years of their religious life. 

Sr. M. Anima Barla, Sr. M. Binita Kullu, Sr. M. Ruphena Dungdung and their companion Sr. M. Pushpa Kishan from Lucknow made their final commitment to the Lord.

Responding to the needs of the people affected by the pandemic, the sisters of Ranchi Province offered help.

Ten of our novices made their first commitment to the Lord on 8 December 2019 at Bara Ghaghra in the presence of Sr. Kavita Joseph the provincial, sisters, priests, religious and family members.

Srs. Jemma Xess, Jyoti Selena Kiro and Sandhya Aind made their final commitment to the Lord along with Sr. Reena Ekka of Mumbai province on 30 November 2019 at Nishkalank Mata Church, Jhirpani.

Six of our junior sisters renewed their vows on the 28 April 2019.

The General Chapter 2018 animation was organized in two groups to share the spirit of the General Chapter with everyone in the province, in order to live and carry forward the spirit of the Chapter in our day to day life and mission.

Sr. M. Evelyn Fernandes celebrated 50 golden years of her religious profession on the 2 February 2019 in Bara Ghaghra.

The LAMP LIGHTING Ceremony of the 8th batch of 30 ANM students was held on 21 January 2019 in Amar Jyoti School of Nursing, Chanho. Sr. Kavita Joseph the provincial was the chief guest.

12 Junior sisters renewed their vows on 28 November during a meaningful Eucharistic celebration.

As the province celebrates its silver jubilee, which marks the glorious years of its past twenty-five years, it was an opportune time for the province to hold the chapter. The chapter commenced on 21 February 2018.

Closing of the chapter was done through a symbolic offering of the resolutions taken by each community and solemn Eucharistic celebration

Five of our Novices made their first commitment to the Lord on 5 December 2017.

The seminar in preparation for the 10th Ordinary General Chapter 2018 was held in three groups by Srs. Kavita Joseph, Anjali Lakra and Bindu Thomas.

The annual retreat for the sisters was held in three groups at different places.

A meeting of all the sisters in education ministry was held on 04 to 05 October 2017 at Preriton ki Rani Sadan, Panchwati, Ranchi.

A meeting of all the sisters engaged in Socio-pastoral ministry was held on 26 October 2017 in Panchwati.

The newly constructed hostel for Tribal Girls was blessed on 14 October 2017

The meeting of all the animators and the in-charges of institutions with Sr. Nandita Pereira, the Superior General on 7 October 2017 began with a short prayer and lighting the lamp by Sr. Nandita Periera, the Superior General at 9.00 am. in the Provincialate, Panchwati. Forty sisters attended the program.

Today on the 2 August as decided by the Superior General and team along with the provincials in the meeting held at the Mother House, the animators were oriented to enter into the process of preparation for the G.C. 2018.

The annual hostellers meet was organized from 20  to 25 May 2018 at Chanho. There were 56 participants from different hostels of the province.

The Summer Program on Classical dance and spoken English commenced on 20 May to 10 June 2017 in Chanho. 59 students participated in the program from our different schools and hostels. Srs. Jyoti Selena Kiro, Preeti Xess, Shobha Tirkey and Miss. Susmita Suganta Xaxa facilitated the program.

On the 12 May we had a gathering of all our nurses. The main aim of coming together was to evaluate our healing ministry and to celebrate the nurses day. Sr. Rosemine Kispotta the health Coordinator welcomed all the sisters and Dr. Jeevan the resource person for the day.

On the 3 May six of our Junior sisters renewed their Promise to the Lord during a Solemn Eucharistic Celebration to follow Him more fervently with renewed vigour and enthusiasm. Fr. Justin OCD helped them to prepare themselves for this great day.

It was a long awaited dream of the province to bring all our teachers together for a seminar which came true on 31.03.2017.  The topic for the seminar was POCSO and effective Class room Management. Fr. Louis Prakash SJ was the resource person.

It remains a memorable day. Amar jyoti school campus Chanho witnessed the meeting together of 81 high school students of our hostels spread across the states of Jharkhand, Bihar, Chattisgarh and Orissa for the first time in the history of the province on 24 March to 25 March 2017.

The first and the final commitment of our sisters commenced on the 10th December 2016. Rt. Rev. Telesphor Bilung the Auxiliary Bishop of Ranchi was the main celebrant.

Thirteen of our junior sisters renewed their religious vows on the 1st December, during the Holy Eucharist officiated by Fr. Nabor Lakra SJ. They had a three days intensive preparation, looking at their past life, counting the numerous blessings  and  asking for the continuous presence of the Lord in their journey of life.

In view of the closing of the Year of Mercy, we organized a gathering in our unit (Railway Colony Unit of Doranda Parish). We began the event reciting the rosary of the Blessed Virgin Mary after which Sr. Kavita Joseph gave a message to the gathering on the various characteristics of the Father’s Mercy.

The Annual Retreat commenced for the first batch of 40 sisters from 7 -12th October 2016 at Carmael Niwas, Deepatoli, Ranchi. Fr. Joseph Mattam OCD from Delhi province was the retreat preacher.

Our Christian spirituality is social. Our commitment to Jesus Christ, the social teachings of the church and the realities of the world colour our spirituality…..

Sisters joyously celebrate the feast of the Holy name of Mary as their name day.

Teachers were honored by the students amidst music and dance, poems and recitations, skits and comics.

The Annual Juniorate Course of Northern Provinces held at Chanho, Ranchi from 19th May - 11th June 2016.
