HEALTH

The province has 11 Health Centers attached to the 17 communities in which 23 sister’s minister as nurses after having completed the training on Nursing. They have undergone training either on General Nurse & Midwifery (GNM) or Auxiliary Nursing & Midwifery (ANM). The Province is also running a Nursing School where the young girls are taught and trained to be ANM nurses. The training is scheduled as per the norms of the government. They get a government certificate at the end of the 2 years course. The health ministry is also extended to the villages by working for the wellbeing of the people through integrated development approach. Thus the health sisters do not spend all their time in the health centers alone but also visit the neighboring villages to give health education and to motivate the people to effect change in their health seeking behavior as most of the people do not take medication in the right time. They believe in superstitious practices or the quacks and come to the health centres in critical stage. The sisters also teach the people on hygiene and other practices for a life of well being.
